Being a software engineer gives me the freedom to be creative and empowers me to bring ideas to life. I have spent nearly two decades in the IT industry leading teams to deliver cutting edge and user-centric software solutions for clients from a wide range of business domains. During the course I have experienced first-hand the transition from PC to mobile to cloud and from web2 to web3 and most recently the AI shift. Some of these transformations have been smooth and gradual while others have been extremely disruptive. However, I feel the more profound change has been in the associated behaviour and experience of how we live as a species in a world that is extremely connected with an increasingly blurring boundary between the real and virtual. As a business owner and Technical Lead, I am a very hands-on manager who believes in leading by example. I have always tried to develop the technical skills of my team members by challenging them with worthy problems. I believe in creating a culture where teams are inspired to build trust through open communication of ideas and being reliable support for each other. I am keen to learn about new tools and technologies and encourage my team also to expand and share their knowledge through short informal seminars from everyone on regular basis. I love to travel and experience new cultures. I am an outdoor person and connect with nature to regain my balance after sprints of work. Enjoy gardening, crafting, reading, and painting in my spare time. I have always been a devoted student and graduated top of my class at National University of Science and Technology, Pakistan and have a MSc in Advanced Computing from Imperial College, London. However, I particularly cherish my teaching tenure in university and feel that it was a very rewarding learning period for me. The opportunity it offered of being in a role to train and inspire young minds is extremely fulfilling. It’s exhilarating to be in a place that is vibrant with enthusiasm of youth and being part of that environment, I believe, helps you develop new perspectives on life and work.
