“The gift you have received, give as a gift” is my life’s motto. I'm a wife, mom and servant leader whose greatest desire is to please God. Growing up on the west and south sides of Chicago, but being exposed to life outside of my neighborhood, I realized that all communities were not equal. My communities lacked resources to improve our lives. I used education, mentorship and serving others to create my path to holistic wellbeing. I tried to save everyone, setting high standards for change and making an impact. My vision for life looked different from what I witnessed growing up, resulting in being one of a few Black people in certain spaces. I functioned in two different worlds, but felt as if I didn’t belong in either. Although neither world was ideal, I needed both worlds to become one, so that I didn’t feel like scattered puzzle pieces. I unknowingly pursued my dreams afraid of becoming like either world, which meant no joy. I needed to heal from the idea of saving people. I needed to learn that perfection wasn't the same as excellence. I needed to deal with my dysfunction. From the outside, everything looked great, but I was busy, burned out and unfulfilled. After several life events including a troubled marriage and unexpected death of my great grandmother, I came to a place where I needed a solution. I prayed “Open the eyes of my heart Lord I want to see You.” I didn’t expect God’s response, “Daughter, you need a spiritual heart transplant.” Wow, what a gut punch! The process to wholeness was not easy. But God pressed an urgency and seriousness in my heart that I committed to the process. It was time to UPLEVEL. We broke the power of stagnation in my life. I know what it’s like to dream about a safe space to heal as you pour when you’re empty, yearn for wholeness, and aspire to move from “doing” to “being.” Who doesn’t want holistic wellbeing? Let’s UPLEVEL together to Break the Power of Stagnation. I also know what it’s like to lead and impact teams without having the pieces of the puzzle together for my life and career. Let me help move the needle for your employees so that they can UPLEVEL too.
