I have a passion for using tech to make lives better and organizations more efficient by pushing the boundaries of innovation and creativity. I accomplish this by researching and applying advanced and emerging technologies in developing novel solutions to challenges across a wide array of disciplines, then sharing the knowledge gained with others. Whether as an entrepreneur, consultant, mentor, public school robotics team coach, or White House Presidential Innovation Fellow, I find that much of what I do is to empower and connect people with one another and with technologies that make their lives easier or more enjoyable while tearing down institutional walls and cutting bureaucracy.Born in Brazil, I have an appreciation and love of cultures, languages, and travel. While attending Case Western Reserve University, I developed a strong interest in the cognitive sciences, and although such a degree was not offered, ended up creating my own, receiving B.S. and M.S. degrees in Computer Engineering and Science with concentrations in Philosophy and Psychology. My work has spanned the scientific, intelligence, defense, and healthcare sectors, among others, across Europe, Asia, Middle East, and North America. From software development and systems integration to policy guidance and technical diplomacy, I have had the pleasure of leading multi-disciplinary teams while interacting with all levels of government and industry. If I can help you as a mentor, your organization as a consultant, or you have a truly out of this world challenge that can benefit from my experience (details under positions below), feel free to reach out.
