Traveled to Sweden, the Netherlands, Scotland, Canada, and throughout the U.S.In June 2023, I decided to move on from my position as Director of Hardware at Bird to create space for myself with two goals in mind: (i) recenter myself before settling on my next full-time career endeavor and (ii) discover projects and entrepreneurial opportunities that inspire further exploration.

When Bird downsized its hardware organization, I was asked to expand my leadership to a broader set of functions: regulatory compliance, hardware vendor management, product & program management, and consumer product aftersales. I set prioritization of workstreams across these areas to best support business strategy, directed internal and external resources, and facilitated decision making with cross-functional leaders and executives.

I built Bird's hardware Program Management Organization with a peak of 5 staff, leading design & development of 10+ vehicle programs (e-scooters and e-bikes) over 3 years. I owned the relationship with executive team, design, product, engineering, and others to bridge from strategy to execution & delivery. I played a key role in building Bird's retail organization, directly influencing the roadmap and executional plan including process, roles, and accountability paths. My work supported an 80+ staff hiring plan and nearly 3x scaling of our development portfolio over 1 year. I lead through multiple re-organizations, honing my ability to recalibrate a strategic centerline and influence others to move forward. This put my human-centric management approach to the test, requiring me to balance empathy with pragmatism & business rationality.

As a consultant at Exponent, I was the relationship manager for one of our largest micromobility clients. I managed multi-disciplinary projects spanning product testing, supply chain diligence, failure analysis, and regulatory compliance. In the consumer electronics space, I led teams at U.S. and international project sites conducting product/market testing for our clients, collaborating with local partners around the world. In addition to providing on-site project leadership, I supported leadership training for our global team.

-Developed an analytical model of a novel composite concrete material for energy efficient buildings and established actionable design rules governing its implementation-Designed and implemented a simple algorithm to incorporate this material into software to be used by home-owners, designers, and architects via a smart phone or table-Collaborated with colleagues in mechanical and civil engineering, architecture, and urban-planning-Synthesized technical and written contributions of civil and mechanical engineering students to projects focused on characterizing the performance of an energy-efficient building material-Mentored undergraduate and graduate researchers, identifying and prioritizing project pathways and tracking research progress
