Zane has been a full-time staff member at Mustard Seed Christian Church Kobe since the end of 2022. He began his career in education, until he felt called to enter full-time pastoral ministry and to the nation of Japan. He has training and experience in pastoral ministry (preaching, pastoral counseling, writing & leading Bible Studies, directing ministries, etc.), music ministry, ESL, and missions work. From 2012-2013 Zane spent 15 months as a missionary intern at Christ Bible Institute in Nagoya, Japan; he then studied at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Massachusetts, graduating in 2017. For a few years he was the Interim Director of Young Adults & Small Groups at Park Street Church in Boston. In 2020 Zane and his wife entered into full-time preparation to be sent out as missionaries to Kobe, Japan as part of the Mustard Seed Network. The COVID-19 pandemic kept Japan's borders closed for a while, but they finally arrived in Kobe in the spring of 2022.
