3DScanCo is a reverse engineering firm that utilizes state-of-the-art non-contact laser scanners to create point cloud data of real-world parts for rendering in CAD. Held job as part of Georgia Tech's Cooperative Education Program.– Utilized non-contact laser scanners to generate point cloud data of real-world parts. – Developed 3D / CAD data from point cloud data to meet customer’s design requests. – Designed custom 3D scanners for clients whose needs were not met by off-the-shelf units. Projects included a scanner for podiatrists to aid in foot support selection. – Generated 3D point cloud data of client’s production part to compare to the original base-CAD data and compare for manufacturing defects.
