• Elected by my peers to oversee governance of Canada’s largest industry association for journalists, including onboarding all new board members, running meetings, ensuring committees operate smoothly and modernizing the association’s bylaws.• Created a media diversity survey to measure the gender and race of journalists at a national level for the first time in Canadian history.• Established a mentorship program for early-career journalists which included recruiting some of the biggest names in Canadian journalism.• Increased the organization’s legal advocacy work on press freedom issues, which included multiple Supreme Court victories.

• Winner of the 2017 and 2018 Goff Penny Awards which go to the top young newspaper journalists in Canada, in the circulation over 25,000 category• Investigative reporter regularly breaking national news, selected from Canada wide competition for a fellowship in journalism• Broke the story on overall Trudeau Foundation donations increasing four-fold and foreign donations increasing ten-fold since Justin Trudeau won the leadership of the Liberal party• Wrote stories sparking federal watchdog investigations of some of Canada’s most powerful people, including Justin Trudeau and Harjit Sajjan• Conceived and oversaw the building of interactive investigative features including a map showing which postal codes supported which candidates for leadership of the federal Conservative party• As comfortable writing front-page stories as communicating investigations to our audience through regular appearances on National Post Radio

• Regularly break investigative journalism stories including that Ontario’s “free tuition” promise will actually cost thousands of dollars per student and that the Canadian Science and Engineering Hall of Fame hasn’t considered a woman for nomination in years• Cover everything from breaking news on the night of the 2015 Canadian Federal election to investigative features on foreign policy• Designed and led Maclean's new ranking of universities based on student satisfaction — including measures on sexual violence prevention and mental health support. This project involved hiring and supervising 23 people as well as managing a database with over 400,000 data points.• Led the content team for Maclean’s education website re-launch, which involved hiring and managing two freelancers and prepping over 300 articles in four days• Wrote or edited five of the six most read stories on macleans.ca in July 2016, and three of the ten most read stories on macleans.ca in 2015

Freelance Columnist - The Globe and Mail (January 2013 - April 2015)• Wrote a column on unpaid internships that prompted Minister of Labour Yasir Naqvi to announce a regulatory crackdown and millions in new funding• Paid columnist for Canada’s newspaper of record, writing about economics and politics• Founding member of the Globe and Mail’s Student Advisory Council

• Grew the news team from five weekly writers, to a dedicated group of over forty, with four associates • Established an investigative team, and a breaking news team covering events on campus as they happen• Developed a research protocol for the investigative team that involved enhanced use of targeted requests for access to information under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act• Winner of silver medal for best news story at Canadian Campus Newspaper Awards for investigative work on academic publishing • Originated bi-weekly continuing education sessions with prominent Canadian journalists including Andrew Coyne and John Stackhouse

• Appeared weekly on CablePulse as a commentator on the provincial election from the perspective of youth• Appeared on election night to discuss a youth perspective on the election as results came in

• Interviewed candidates and provided general provincial election coverage for the riding of Don Valley West• Moderated an all candidates debate, including soon-to-be Premier Kathleen Wynne

• Communications with students and education stakeholders across Canada • Organized professional development & consultations for teachers and students• Encouraged registration from students and student leadership of the Student Vote program in their schools• Analyzed and synthesized daily political news from Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Newfoundland and Labrador, Yukon, Northwest Territories, Prince Edward Island

• Coordinated the first province wide survey of over 2600 students on educational issues of importance to them.•Oversaw all aspects of the project, including questions, promotions and outreach• Created detailed plan for presentations to school boards, students and educational decision makers province wide• Received local and national media coverage from CBC, Globe and Mail, Toronto Star, CP24, Global, CTV, Yahoo News, Maclean's and other media outlets• Presented results to the Board of Directors of the Ontario Public School Board's Association• Coordinated second Ontario Student Survey and first ever Ontario Parent Survey in partnership with people for education• Reached over 7000 students with second survey - largest sample of high school age students surveyed on their education by their peers in Canada

• Elected to represent over 250 000 students on the largest school Board in Canada• Spoke in front of 20 000 educators on the importance of student involvement in decision making processes• Secured basic accountability and transparency on student activity fees with the passing of the Student Activity Fees and Course Cost Fees procedure• Emcee for My Health My Choice, a conference designed to promote healthy nutritional choices for Toronto families• Participated in public debates and interacted with the media• Successfully advocated for student representation on Swim Toronto, the body responsible for deciding whether or not to close the pools in our schools• Member of the Accountability Finance and Administration Committee, the Operation and Facility Management Committee and the Program and School Services Committee• Student member of Budget Committee, responsible for overseeing 2.7 billion dollar budget• Elected to Swim Toronto Committee
