As Chief Strategy Officer (an evolution of my initial role as CBO), work to position Tulane Medicine as the driving force behind a wide array of strategic initiatives aimed at ensuing our institution remains at the apex of medical innovation and excellence. Our efforts in Communications & Marketing (including Clinical Marketing) are dedicated to magnifying the reach and impact of Tulane Medicine’s scientific breakthroughs and medical services. This includes enhancing stakeholder engagement, promoting the TulaneDoctors and TulaneMedicine brands, and ensuring our community recognizes the superior healthcare experience our academic medical center provides them. Responsibilities also include crisis management, ranging from ensuring that issues never become "known issues" to managing those that do on the local, regional or national scale.Furthermore, our office plays a crucial role in launching and advancing strategic projects, such as forming academic-industry/investor partnerships, initiating new centers and departments, and establishing cutting-edge nursing programs. Our mission is to act as a central hub of connectivity, bridging Tulane Medicine with the global healthcare and scientific landscape. The Office of Research Business Development is designed to bridge the gap between private industry technology development needs and Tulane University research and commercialization expertise. We function as a single point of connectivity and identify potential opportunities for contracting with the private sector through industry-sponsored research service contracts, ventures and alliances providing research expertise, research management and research facilities. While forward facing as well, the CBO has primary responsibility managing the team assisting faculty with all aspects of building new collaborations between researchers and industry partners, and managing relationships with key stakeholders to enable new projects. The CBO also oversees communications functions for the SoM and is an integral member of the strategic direction and crisis management response teams.
