Receive incoming calls through SSA's National 800 number and conducting interviews to determining the nature of the call or provide information on SSA laws, rules and regulations and Medicare Insurance Programs; obtaining information in order to determine eligibility for programs administered by SSA. Use automation tools to access and update information about claims or potential eligibility.Provide assistance to beneficiaries and the general public in person, by telephone, or in writing. • Manage the initiation of personnel security forms for an average of 25 clients per week. • Review, analyze and determine the accuracy and completeness of all documents pertaining to the development of contract deliverables for background investigations (BI)• Prepare personnel security files (PSF) for background investigation reports for adjudication to establish the suitability and security eligibility for individuals entry or retention in sensitive and non-sensitive positions. • Maintain personnel security files by collecting and analyzing data on applicant forms required for Background Investigations. • Perform database checks in CVS/JPAS, DataFacts, ISMS, and e-QIP on a daily basis. • Ensure inquiries are processed accordingly, as well as database and file maintenance are accurate and no cross contamination with other applicants occur. • Order and receive background investigation products from the Office of Personnel Management, contract service providers, and other federal agencies. • Review SF-85, SF-85P, SF-85P-S, and SF-86 daily for discrepancies and accuracy. • Perform general clerical functions, maintain the PSU file and mail rooms. • Assist applicants via email and phone with questions regarding their security packet. • Answer and respond to routine telephone and email inquiry.
