As Enterprise Applications Manager within Thungela Resources, I am responsible for the strategic oversight and management of our enterprise application suite. This position reports to the Head of Information Management and is instrumental in ensuring that our systems effectively support business operations, drive performance, and align with Thungela’ s organizational goals.Key Responsibilities• Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for enterprise application management, encompassing implementation, administration, customization, user support, and enhancement.• Operational Excellence: Lead the implementation of best practices and standards for enterprise applications, fostering collaboration across departments and optimizing service delivery.• Business Alignment: Conduct in-depth analysis of business processes and reporting requirements to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement. Translate these needs into system configurations, ensuring alignment between business and technology objectives.• Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across Supply Chain, Human Resources, Safety, and Information Management. Facilitate collaboration and ensure effective communication to drive project success.• Performance Optimization: Continuously assess the performance and efficiency of enterprise applications, identifying areas for enhancement and rationalization. Implement strategies to optimize system utilization and maximize return on investment.• Team Leadership: Provide leadership and mentorship to the enterprise applications team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

• Report to the Head of Enterprise Applications, overseeing system implementation, administration, customization, user support and enhancement to ensure that SAP Fieldglass as the core solution effectively meet the organisation's performance management needs.• Lead the implementation of a global contractor performance management platform, collaborating with cross-functional teams, vendors and stakeholders to facilitate seamless project delivery.• Analyse business processes and reporting needs, translate requirements into system configurations, and identify opportunities for process automation and improvement.• Lead Contractor Performance Management Application Delivery across all Business Units in Anglo American.• Manage various stakeholders across Supply Chain, Human Resources, Safety and IM to ensure alignment with a Global strategic programme objective.• Design Authority for CPM Platforms, including Passport 360 and SAP Fieldglass.• Ensure the reporting and analysis capabilities of the CPM system meet requirements for financial and operational performance tracking and measurement. • Continuously evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of CPM (Contractor Performance Management) applications and identify opportunities for enhancement. • Lead change management efforts related to CPM (Contractor Performance Management) applications and facilitate process improvement initiatives, leveraging the capabilities of the CPM applications. • Manage contractor relationships and performance, negotiate contracts and ensure effective communication and collaboration with contractors to address issues and leverage support services.

• Developed and maintained the Enterprise Architecture (EA) framework, aligning technology solutions with business needs and ensuring interoperability, consistency and scalability within the organisation. • Led the planning and execution of strategic integration and application delivery – highlight Work Execution Platform (WEP).• Managed modernisation and mobile apps within the EA team, working with stakeholders to define architecture principles, standards and guidelines that promote consistency, interoperability and scalability.• Directed, managed and mentored contractors and developers, and promoted architectural awareness and collaboration among teams.• Contributed to the development and enforcement of governance processes to ensure compliance with architectural standards, policies and guidelines.• Engaged internal and external stakeholders across various business units, bands and mining disciplines to facilitate strategic commodification through clear communication channels.Notable Achievements:• Worked on the Work Execution Platform (WEP), which was successfully implemented across various Business Units in Anglo American during 2020 and 2021.

• Oversaw continuous improvement efforts, led improvement projects, optimized processes, managed change, engaged stakeholders and fostered a culture of continuous learning and improvement to achieve operational excellence and drive business performance. • Developed a clear and comprehensive improvement strategy and led delivery of strategic business improvement initiatives across the Coal Mining Value Chain.• Led and managed improvement projects from initiation to implementation.• Analysed existing business processes, workflows and systems to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for enhancement and employed methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma or Agile to assess process performance, streamline workflows, eliminate waste and drive process optimization initiatives.• Oversaw and guided the activities of the Business Improvement Department.• Implemented and controlled the Business Improvement budget for Zibulo Colliery.• Directed, managed and mentored numerous direct reports and Professional/Engineers in Training.• Engaged various internal and external stakeholders, including unions and the Department of Mineral Resources.• Provided specialist input to the site senior leadership team, providing guidance to drive performance. Notable Achievements:• Led various business improvement initiatives within Anglo American Coal's flagship underground coal mine, Zibulo Colliery. I was responsible for driving the top 5 improvement strategies across the entire Coal value chain. Since 2016, Zibulo achieved record breaking tonnages and EBITDA. Zibulo achieved their first millionaires section in 2016 and thereafter year on year.• Led the flagship digitalisation project and received the SACMA Golden Medal in 2018 for my efforts in mobility and digitalisation in the South African Coal Mining environment.

• Analysed, optimized and drove continuous improvement within the organisation's business processes. • Identified areas of opportunity, implemented process improvements, monitored performance and drove change to enhance overall organisational performance.• Provided support to mining and engineering teams in defining, planning and executing Business Improvement Initiatives.• Supported Finance and supply chain in driving cost and improvement initiatives.Notable Achievements:• Initially started as a Graduate in 2012 with rapid promotion to Business Improvement Specialist.

• Acted as a liaison between business and technology, leveraging analytical skills, communication abilities and domain knowledge to understand business needs, design effective solutions and drive organizational improvement. • Served logistic and software delivery projects in the automotive and transportation industries.• Coordinated the implementation of RFid integrated solutions and supporting asset management software development for a range of clients.

• As part of my final year thesis, I developed an ISO 9001:2008 based Quality Management System that was successfully implemented and obtained accreditation in 2012.
