I am a barrister-at-law and a partner at Layards & Stuart, a Colombo-based law firm specializing in cross-border transactions. With extensive experience in corporate and commercial law, I focus on mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, strategic planning, project finance, and contract negotiations.Beyond my legal practice, I am a passionate entrepreneur. During the challenges of COVID-19, I founded Bamboo Dreams, a sustainable bamboo bed linen company, and co-founded Sapphire Sisters, sourcing rare and bespoke sapphires directly from Sri Lanka through a mine-to-market approach—delivering gems straight from close network partners or mines to customers. Expanding my ventures further, I launched Comet Wearables, bringing affordable and innovative smartwatches to the Pakistani market. My newest venture, which I co-founded, is DRiFY, a hairdryer brand tailored specifically for the unique needs of South Asian hair, now available on Amazon India. In addition to my work in law and business, I contribute to the Sri Lankan newspapers as a columnist, sharing insights on law, commerce, and topics that inspire me. Originally from Pakistan, I now call Sri Lanka home, where I am pursuing my passions in law, business, and writing.
