The firm is known for its proficiency in regulatory compliance across industries, Zarmeeneh's practice areas include corporate, regulatory law, international law, legislative policy and drafting, inter-governmental agency consultancies and legal education and training.After studying in Canada at McGill University (BA), Zarmeeneh worked at the Ministry of the Attorney General’s office on a multi-million dollar lawsuit against the Government of Ontario and decided to pursue a law degree. While at the University of Durham (LLB), Zarmeeneh was editor of the Durham Law Journal. Zarmeeneh worked at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City in the Office of Legal Affairs on the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) and the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) and the Special Court for Sierra Leone. She also acted as assistant to former Special Assistant to the Secretary General on the Alliance of Civilizations Project at the United Nations Office of Special Projects, (UNOPS). Zarmeeneh joined the firm Vellani & Vellani in 2008 where she was involved in intellectual property litigation matters. In 2013, she joined the Foundation for Fundamental Rights where she worked on litigation in housing and criminal matters in the district courts, and writ petitions on fundamental rights issues in the High Courts of Islamabad and Peshawar. She also worked to provide legal aid for victims of fundamental rights violations and does research and legislative drafting for reform of legal aid policy for juveniles.Zarmeeneh is a founding editor of The Counsel, a law publication, and the Company Secretary of CLEIP, Zarmeeneh is Program Coordinator for the CLEIP Access to Law Centre and got her LLM in International Human Rights Law, with a focus on the Human Rights of Women at Queen Mary, University of London.Zarmeeneh has ten years experience drafting legislation, training lawyers, regulatory officers, and designing training materials for ministries, companies and board members on competition law, securities law, environmental policy and corporate governance.
