Modelling And Appraisal Manager
CurrentI lead on decision making around the modelling and appraisal specification and manage the implementation of creative, innovative and practical solutions for transport schemes with a focus on delivering schemes for £1.4bn Transport Fund. I ensure complex economic analysis is carried out in accordance with relevant guidance. I sit on the Gateway Peer Review Panel for transport fund submissions made by scheme promoters, provide challenge and recommendations for approval and/or actions need to meet an acceptable level for the Investment Decision Reports. I oversee the development and application of Urban Dynamic Model and manage its use for evaluating and prioritising transport scheme. I help to build up a centre of excellence for modelling and economic appraisal within WYCA. This includes fostering relationships with technical officers across the Districts, DfT, Highways England, consultants, PTEG and Universities and building a pool of knowledge, to provide modelling and appraisal advice and intelligence on economic issues across the urban transport agenda. I also co-ordinate the Transport Research Innovation Fund with academic partners, most notably ITS, University of Leeds.
