I've always loved solving problems. The sense of accomplishment that I get from solving 1 problem drives me forward to solving the next. What got me hooked to programming is the fact that it provides the platform to be exposed to different problems and also serves as a tool to create the solution to these problems.Through around 4 years of software development I've been able to learn and understand different software tools, some through work and some through self learning.I started my software engineering journey with Python. With it I've been able to build a facial detection, landmarking and recognition system. I've also carried out research on optical character recognition (OCR) to perform information extraction from MyKad which combined with the previous system forms an eKYC system.Following that I switched to backend application development and deployment where I had the opportunity to learn about backend language such as NodeJs as well as various deployment tools such as Docker. With these tools I was able to create a real time messaging application and deploy them on VMs with Docker Swarm. At the same time I was also in charge of creating API documentation as well as coordinating the frontend team on the mobile application development.My latest focus has been on cloud computing where I carried out research and proposed to the management to migrate some projects to AWS to save up to RM100k per application per year. After my proposal was approved, I handled everything about the deployment, from DNS management to CI/CD implementation to setting up auto-scaling of the application.Now I'm still always updating myself on the latest software tools available to prepare myself for whatever problems I might face in the future and I believe my drive for problem solving and tech will continue to drive me on in doing so.
