Investigated various sources including the US Census Bureau and the Small Business Administration (SBA) to gather data on small business revenue and closure rates during the COVID-19 pandemic period. A model was then developed to calculate an estimate of total expected revenue loss by small businesses in 2020;Led a research project to develop a model for a pet insurance product with a focus on equity and convenience. Various pet insurance products were analyzed and compared to identify factors that could turn pet insurance into a more mainstream product;I also act as a Marketing Assistant, my responsibilities include:- Event planning and logistics;- Two main events are organized annually: the annual Board Meeting where board members and industry executives are invited to attend presentations about key projects done over the past year, and the annual Actuarial Case Study Competition where undergraduates work in teams on case studies sent from real insurance companies and then deliver presentations on their projects;- Email correspondence with Goldenson Center board members and affiliated companies;- Preparing marketing materials such as presentations and brochures for Goldenson Center research projects.
