As an IT consultant and cyber security leader, I have worked with clients on projects ranging from a few thousands to billions of dollars. I have held technical, consulting, and leadership positions, working with employees at every level of an organization. I have been the IT department and the security team, and I have also led each of them. I started a business and evolved it from a break/fix shop to a Managed Service Provider and eventually a Managed Security Service Provider. I have developed information security programs from the ground up—writing policies, developing mitigation plans, and bringing organizations into compliance with standards, frameworks, legal obligations, and regulatory requirements. Throughout my career, I have translated client problems into scalable solutions that tackled the immediate issue while addressing organizational strategic objectives.Overcoming challenges motivates me. Helping others solve their problems and achieve their goals gives me a sense of purpose. But being in the limelight is not something I relish. The discomfort does not stem from a lack of confidence or shyness; instead, taking sole credit for an accomplishment or selling myself makes me feel boastful. I prefer to let the work speak for itself. Cyber security fulfills all three areas. There are new challenges to overcome every day and problems to solve all the time. A job well done means I can stay out of the limelight. I have worked with clients in several industries and with completely different missions.
