I have been elected as Member, National Assembly of Pakistan for two consecutive terms; once in year 2013 and now again in 2018.I was elected as Member, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in general elections 2008 against one of the sixty-six seats reserved for women. After which I went on to be elected as Member, National Assembly in 2013 where I was Chairperson Taskforce CADD. Member of Parliamentarian Committee Commerce, Information, Broadcasting & Heritage. I also held the following roles as Member, National Assembly: Convener of Friendship Group Netherlands; Member of Friendship group Germany; and Member of Friendship group Canada.Kick-starting my political career in 1997, I was elected as Vice Chairperson, District Council, Rahim Yar Khan. In the year 2002 and 2008, I contested general election for NA-193. I have a keen interest in languages and culture. Presently, I also work for special education and have set up my own NGO for this purpose to help children in any way I can.Presently, I am in the fight against Modern Slavery, Forced Labour and Human Trafficking and remain actively involved in Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA UK) Modern Slavery Project where I am their current champion. I have also been Vice Chairperson of Bahawalpur Chamber of Commerce (Women Wing) in the year 2013 and 2017 where I helped women in rural areas by distributing foreign grant for small scale business such as buying of cattle. My family history is mainly in politics where my grandfather remained MLA during 1962-65, 1965-70 and as MPA during 1977; then as Member Majlis-e-Shura during 1978-85 and MNA during 1985-88. My father served as Advisor to Chief Minister; Provincial Minister for Health; and Deputy Speaker Senate during 1997. My mother was MNA during 1985, 2002 and is currently re-elected as MNA in July 2018
