• Admin level support of domain controllers in clustering environment, Server operations and administration assistance in routine installation, configuration, testing and deployment of server hardware and verity of OS. • Maintain the documentation of server systems, pertinent to operations and system administration.• Installation and Support of different applications and software’s running on servers. Software distribution updates, scripting, testing and support. • Admin level desktop troubleshooting in conjunction with the Help Desk. Desktop administration and Configuration. Assist in monitoring personal computers running UN software delivery system to ensure that software distributions are being delivered correctly. Administrate and log problem calls or service requests in the automated tracking system with minimum delay (OTRS). • Research into new versions of centrally supported software and perform beta testing, production rollouts and post production support. • Routine troubleshooting and disaster recovery of server systems and escalate to higher level in accordance to procedures. • Collect various statistics on the performance and reliability of server systems, and produce pertinent reports. Network Installations and support and management using different network management tools.• Diagnose and troubleshoot problems relating to local area network, hardware problems or any other related issues, and recommend potential solutions.• Requisitioning of IT equipment for infrastructure support and daily operational requirements for the Sector West Region. Also requisitioning of spare and supplies for upkeep of network and users related equipment• In liaison with the RCCITS and the ITU supervisor draw the work plan. Prepare cost estimates for the FY. Plan staffs leave. Delegate responsibilities to subordinates. Evaluation of staff performance. Plan and deliver training to staff.

I was working as an IT Assistant for UNDP, Assigned on the (NEX) project CPRSPD (Center for Poverty Reduction and Social Policy Development). My responsibilities were to provide, plan, implement and support IT strategies. I was acting as a liaison between UNDP and Planning & Development Division Govt. of Pakistan, providing support to implement this project. I was also responsible for the hardware and software acquisition and its development/maintenance. Providing network turnkey solutions (Network File sharing, Network Printing, Domain Controller, DNS, DHCP, ISA, MS Exchange Server, CISCO Switches, Cisco PIX firewall, Panasonic telephone exchange, HP backup and recovery solution), quality assurance, disaster recovery and backup plans. I was also involved in the launch of (MDG) Millennium Development Goals Report 2005-06 inaugurated by the Prime Minister of Pakistan.Equipment/Servers Configured: ISA Server, PIX (Cisco), Exchange Server 2003, Domain Controller, DNS, DHCP, Web Server, DSL Router, Panasonic Telephone Exchange.

I worked in UNFAO Afghanistan as an IT Officer. According to my TOR I was responsible for taking care and trouble shooting of Hardware and Software installed in the Afghanistan Kabul head office and site offices all over Afghanistan. I was managing almost 200 users/Computers on the FAO Network which includes the remote duty stations like Jalalabad, Khandhar, Kundouz, UNDP office, Darulamman office and Ministry of irrigation office all of them were equipped with Radio/Satellite links. Trouble shooting Radio based network/Internet was also a part of job. I Handled/Supported foreign missions according to their technological needs. Deployment and day to day upgrades of Network Operating Systems (Windows Servers and XP) and Antivirus Software’s servers (Norton Corporate Edition) and clients was also part of the job. Handling/purchasing of network/other equipment i.e. Computers, Cisco Routers, DSL Router, and Switches etc. was also included in my job description etc

I worked as an IT Officer in UNFAO Pakistan. Helpdesk/Administration of Hardware and Software installed in the office setup was my routine task. It also includes watching over and trouble shooting Radio based network/Internet. I have handled and supported foreign missions in the relevant field. Deployment and day to day upgrades of Network/OS (Client, Servers) and Antivirus Software’s were also part of the job. Purchasing of network/other equipment i.e. Computers, Routers, Switches, UPS, Cables other Network/IT equipment etc. was also part of job.

I worked as IT Administrator/Manager for the project on Education with USAID in collaboration with RTI. During my job I have installed country wide network and managed Microsoft Servers, Microsoft Exchange Server 2000, and RedHat LINUX (Squid), Configuration of tripledesk ISO CISCO Routers for our three offices in Islamabad, Karachi, and Quetta. I build network of almost 50 computers network in Islamabad, 25 computers network in Karachi and 20 computers network in Quetta. Trouble shooting of these networked computers was also part of job. I have managed a team of three assistants. I was Involved in purchasing of Server Machines, Active and Passive network equipments. I have also dealt and provided support to high level Government officials in the establishment of District Network. Met tight deadlines and took proactive measures in order to guarantee optimal network performance. I also cleared my audit on behalf of IT department. I was member of local procurement committee.

COMSATS (Commission on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development a SAARC Organization) is an International, Inter-Governmental Non Profitable Organization, aiming at Socio-Economic uplift of the third world through useful applications of science and technology. During my service at COMSATS I have provided online and on the spot technical help to customers 24 hours round the clock regarding network problems and computer applications like outlook express and Microsoft outlook. I have been promoted as Assistant to Director marketing for making turnkey solutions and proposals in order to deal with high-end connectivity and dialup customers. I was involved in trouble shooting of network and helpdesk for corporate sector at the same time. I was also responsible for setting up and administrating work during exhibitions within country wide.

Installed Structured Networks at different sites such as Net21(ISP), Abbot Labs Islamabad,UNDP Islamabad etc. Dealt with different networking products of Cisco and third partybrands. I was also involved in making proposals, presentations and technical supportsolutions for multination and national firms.
