About Dr. Zeeyon Walker, Psy.D.

A Black, African-Centered practicing (Clinical) Psychologist with over two decades in leadership, program management, forensic and clinical psychology and relationship counseling purposed to illuminate the African mind, and enliven the African Spirit. I am an expert manager in the non-profit and philanthropy sector. Past positions have provided platforms for me to prove progressive management expertise, as well as demonstrate outstanding leadership skills in managing complex public programs and multi-stakeholder collaborations and initiatives. I have years of experience in maximizing revenue sources and financial sustainability using capacity building, and budget management. I develop and build collaborative partnerships with multi-sector stakeholders to ensure communication, transparency, integrity, within the framework of a mission-driven culture. I am effective with designing and supervising programs that build and improve communities. Armed with a background in Forensic Psychology, I specialize in transformative and insight-oriented wellness facilitation with children, adults, couples, and groups. Through the years, I have continued to develop my skills and actively sought to acquire diverse tools in culturally appropriate interventions, including drug abuse, eating disorders, recidivism, depression, anxiety, stress, and homelessness. My work with marginalized, underserved and underrepresented populations has rewarded me most. Opportunities to participate in the transformative growth and development of spirit beings facing difficult times in their lives and the lives of their families is especially humbling. My objective is to make a difference, not just make a living. I am committed to this work. My profession is not simply work, it is a responsibility to do my part to bring balance into so much imbalance of our collective daily lives. When I have the privilege to work with individuals who are confined or supervised within the criminal justice system, those who are homeless, or those who are facing struggles with substance dependence issues, I am honored to share my knowledge, skills, and life experience through my services. Facilitating agency with individuals and families working to achieve stability and balance within themselves, their families, communities, and general environment by guiding them to the necessary resources and treatment services for them to reach their goals is my why. I do it with passion.
