Perform field work involving wildlife and habitat evaluations and surveys, avian, small mammal and invertebrate trapping, habitat management plans, tree surveys, jurisdictional delineations, waters and wetland mapping, vegetation and habitat map creation.Create Biological Resource Assessments, Jurisdictional Delineations, Biological Constraints Analysis, Oak Tree Reports, and Biological sections for CEQA documents.Perform basic permitting tasks, coordinating with CDFW, USACE, and RWQCB, and report preparation.Digitizing vegetation maps, jurisdictional delineations, and tree surveys, as well as utilizing engineer CAD data to perform impact analyses for proposed projects.Perform mapping and surveying tasks, including graphic editing, data acquisition and processing in ArcGIS/ArcView, AutoCAD, and Google Earth environments.

Collected samples from the upper and lower Michigan for avian influenza testing. Collected, submitted, and compiled the collected data in a geodatabase and used ArcGIS to thematically display data. Also Performed BASH biologist duties on Detroit Metro Airport hazing and trapping birds within the flight path. Also assisted with Coyote tapping within the Airport.

Plant Materials Center - Rose Lake

Greenhouse maintenance and expansion construction.Harvesting native plant materials from propagation fields in Michigan and Indiana.Planting native plant materials in restoration areas throughout the state.

Rose Lake Field Office

Acquired conservation land to create corridors and facilitate wildlife species movement. Specifically the LIP program focused on high quality fen areas as well as converting fallow farm land back into native prairies.

Private Lands Office

Create propagation fields of native warm season grasses for the purpose of converting fallow farm land into native prairies. The Private Lands Office also assisted the Michigan Natural Features Inventory (MNFI) in collecting seed from remnant prairies throughout southern Michigan. The Private Lands Office works in cooperation with the Natural Resource Conservation Service Plant Materials Center (NRCS PMC) to provide native seed to the public.
