I was lucky to receive the opportunity to volunteer as a teaching fellow in Dr. Carol West's "Money, Class, and Marriage in the British Novel" class. Across the semester, I devised and taught lesson plans for five class sessions, served as a resource for students, and helped to design essay prompts.

I served as a preliminary field researcher for Dr. Matthew Moran's field guide to the Flint Hills of Oklahoma and Kansas. I made several trips to the region in the summer of 2018 to document the ecology and history of this unique ecosystem, and I was credited as a coauthor of the field guide to The Nature Conservancy's Tallgrass Prairie Preserve.

I worked primarily as a fact-checker for the OA, and I loved every second of the work. Connecting with authors, tracking down sources, and reworking sentences to accommodate new information were intensely rewarding for me, as was the process of reviewing galleys for publication.
