A change from computer graphics to expand my boundaries a little. Leading development of APIs and back-end pipelines for the amazing platform that is Shopify. Lots of alignment, decision making, programming languages, diagramming, and of course meetings.

Refactored the rendering pipeline in 3ds max to enable realtime software rendering. Integrated a home grown photorealistic path tracer as an interactive renderer in the viewport.

Wrote a physically-based path tracer to run on the Caustic hardware ray tracing platform. It even worked and was actually pretty fast. Sadly the hardware raytracing tech didn’t really go anywhere.
