The majority of our work is done in the commercial and industrial sectors where we carry out design, installation, maintenance, testing and inspecting and hazardous area work for household names in the petroleum, construction, food, education and car industry. At BLM I specialised predominantly in short tail occupational disease claims, namely, cumulative back injuries, work related upper limb disorders, occupational asthma and dermatitis.

At Kennedys I handled a mixed caseload of occupational disease, EL and PL matters for insurers and self insureds.

In December 2007 I transferred to the Employment Department at Halliwells. I dealt mainly with contentious employment law doing a broad range of both Claimant and Respondent tribunal work including unfair dismissal, various types of discrimination, redundancy, public interest disclosure and employee status cases.I also provided advice through a dedicated helpline service to a number of clients advising on managing the performance, capability or conduct of employees and occasionally the most appropriate way to effect an employee’s dismissal. Many of the clients I worked for are household names in the retail and leisure industry. I also worked for clients in the health sector.
