Tasked with leading a team of Operational Performance Specialists to implement and sustain an Operational Leadership methodology across Western Power's entire operational workforce, that focuses on shifting behaviours to drive productivity.The Operational Performance team is responsible for increasing operational efficiency in line with the strategic aim of achieving operational excellence and embedding continuous improvement throughout the whole business.

The Replace & Extend Function sits within the Business Performance and Improvement Business Unit which is responsible for leading the implementation of Western Power’s corporate strategy, the performance of core end-to-end business processes and for the efficient and effective delivery of Western Power’s portfolio of construction, maintenance and business improvement programs and projects.Process leads are accountable for the overall performance of three core whole of business processes:- Replace and Extend- Operate and Maintain- Emergency ResponseReplace and Extend is accountable to respond and meet the changes in the demand for electricity.This is achieved by:- Developing and maintaining an inventory of processes and respective inputs/outputs to deliver agreed outcomes that are measured and reported against- Driving a simplification agenda across the business by continually reviewing and reducing unnecessary and/or duplicated hand-offs between processes- Identifying improvement opportunities that return tangible benefits to Western Power (hard savings, cost avoidance and redistribution of effort)- Embedding continuous improvement throughout the whole of business – moving from an intervention based mode of improvement to one of frequent and continued adjustment- Ensuring that the activities of the business deliver required outcomes through focus on key end-to-end processes- Simplifying of the business and removing costs through continual process improvement- Taking accountability for performance of key processes and activities across the operating model

Officiating in the Australian Football League at the elite level as a boundary umpire, I worked in a team of 11 tasked with ensuring the game was played in a safe manner, in accordance with the Laws of Australian Rules Football and the spirit of the game.I was promoted to the national list in 2002 and officiated in 11 successive seasons.
