As an educator with nearly 20 years of experience in the Miami-Dade County Public Schools, I have dedicated my career to transforming education through the power of technology. Currently, I am working as an Instructional Technology Curriculum Support Specialist, where I support our district educators with a variety of technological resources including training teachers on our newly acquired LMS (Learning Management System), Schoology. My passion for infusing technology within education is enhanced by demonstrating the power of active student-centered learning opportunities with resources such as augmented reality. My motto is that “students need to receive instruction at their level of engagement in order to ignite their curiosity for learning.”I have had the opportunity to share my expertise with others as the lead presenter at several national conferences, including FETC (Future of Education Technology Conference) in 2022 and 2023. As well as writing several articles on the subject of augmented reality in today's classroom. Some of my most recent articles include "Transforming Teaching, Learning with Augmented Reality," published in March 8, 2022, for SmartBrief and “AR and Accessibility: Why Augmented Reality is a Big Hit with Diverse Learners” published July 8, 2022, for DA District Administration.My dedication to education has not gone unnoticed. In 2023 I was honored to be the Instructional Support Person of the Year for ACE of Florida.
