In 2001 Zepponi Architects launched with the award winning Robert Biale Winery in Napa, which was featured in San Francisco Magazines’ Small Firms Great Projects. Since then we have worked on a variety of winery and commercial projects as well as hundreds of residential projects gaining specialized expertise navigating the complex project approval process within San Francisco while focusing on maximizing the investment potential of our client’s property within their budget and goals.Working in architecture since 1989 Peter has experience in diverse project types including: Banks, university chemistry buildings, hospital emergency rooms, operating rooms, patient research libraries, ADA upgrades and analysis, National Guard buildings, hangers, courthouses, prisons, parking structures, restaurants, residential high rises, and tenant improvement and department relocation projects for UC Berkeley including the Berkeley Wireless Research Center and 5th floor of Cory Hall. He was a Project Architect for the renovation of the San Francisco City Hall managing the production of the Construction Documents and was an on-site architect during the construction. This work involved Mayor Willie Brown’s private offices, all of the Supervisor offices, hearing rooms, and courthouses. A major focus of the renovation was working to bring the historic building into compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act.Peter has been active in volunteering and community service with the SF Recreation and Parks Department as the co-founder of the Friends of the Oak Woodlands Golden Gate Park nonprofit park partner, the restoration of the historic horseshoe courts in GG Park, and the design of the Ferry Plaza Bocce Ball courts, in Justin Herman Plaza. Raised in Sonoma and St. Helena, Peter worked at ZD winery, which his father, Gino Zepponi, founded in 1968 as well as at Domaine Chandon until joining a Napa Valley architectural firm in 1989 to begin his career in architecture.
