As part of the Ovarian Contraceptive Discovery Initiative (OCDI) funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, my thesis is focused on curating and analyzing in-house and publicly available single-cell transcriptomics datasets to identify novel ovarian gene targets for contraceptive discovery.

Studying the mechanisms of age-associated tumorigenesis in lungs of young and old Cre-dependent Cas9 mice. Applyingg the novel deep learning and image processing methods for pathological and immunological analyses of induced lung cancer in mice.

Our team won the 2nd place in Therapeutics at the iGEM Grand Jamboree, the largest international synthetic biology competition with over 400 graduate and undergraduate teams competing.As a scientific mentor for a team from Nazarbayev University in Kazakhstan, I led the computational part of the project.Our research focused on using biodegradable hydrogel as a novel cancer drug-delivery platform. The use of hydrogels to deliver bacteria as drug-releasing agents is a new approach that offers many advantages, including localized administration to solid tumors with targeted transfer of drugs to cancer cells only, sustained release of anti-cancer toxins produced by bacteria, controlled payload of drug concentration, and biocompatible and biodegradable FDA-approved materials that maintain the biochemical activity of the embedded bacteria. Our team created a living bacteria-mediated drug-release machinery against carcinoma delivered by the crystalline hydrogel.

The DIAC business accelerator provides entrepreneurial support for the Dartmouth-affiliated cancer research labs to translate their innovations into the marketplace. Through its collaboration with Dartmouth alumni and Simbex commercialization platform, DIAC designed a 10-week bioentrepreneurship program for the early-stage cancer-related startups. As part of the DIAC team, I’m supporting the Accelerator in communications with startup teams, marketing, meetings, and pitch competitions with the External Review Panelists who give feedback and make funding decisions.

Annotated the medical advice datasets and assisted with engineering better medical data annotation methods to aid in the design of ML models that would support the medical advice recognition and classification tasks.

Yale’s Summer Institute in Bioethics is a selective program and invites only 70 professionals from around the world, across different fields, and at various career levels to explore contemporary pressing issues in bioethics. The program starts with seminars on the foundations of ethical theory, ethical policymaking, and bioethical principles, terms, and history. Then, led by Yale Bioethics faculty, the program delves into a wide range of topics including gene editing, “a good death,” environmental ethics and social justice, OneHealth, and patient-centered clinical ethics.

Worked at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center at Professor Jiwon Lee’s Lab as the Women in Science Project and Sophomore Summer grants recipient. Assisted with the development of more efficient human immunoprofiling methods, performed both wet and dry lab research.
