• Explored methods to evaluate the uncertainty of a neural network model called CGCNN that predicts the property of materials. • Used an Bayesian approach to improve the CGCNN model, by building the existing uncertainty estimates into the model.• Implemented with Python and the PyTorch, scikit-learn, pandas, numpy, matplotlib and seaborn packages.

• Builds upon the work of Norquist et al., who considered the use of failed reactions and statistical tools in predicting the outcome of similar reactions, by exploring new machine learning methods (k-nearest neighbors and SVM) and improving compatibility with more types of data. Implemented with Python and the pandas, numpy, matplotlib and scikit-learn packages.• Adapted code to run on multi-processor, multi-node computing clusters.

• Assisting Prof. Lei Liu and Dr. Bingjia Yan in solid-phase synthesis of the long peptide DSS1 from individual amino acids, by creating several stable fragments and combining them.• Prepared hydrazinated resins, precursors for the above experiments.

• Explored algorithms to improve the efficiency of work schedules when inputs are fluctuating.• Wrote about and looked into Brazilian policies on drug pricing in original Portuguese. This is part of an analysis on the pricing policies of multiple countries to deduce future policy changes by the Chinese Ministry of Health.

Made maps for other projects as well.• Starting out making panoramic imagery for virtual tours, Microscene now operates a database and a platform catering to the tourism industry, built on proprietary framework. Its staff are mostly veterans from the Internet titan Tencent, and the firms have close ties.
