 To develop, implement and review facility policies and procedures. Detailed knowledge of the legislative requirements under the Aged Care Act 1997. To develop, implement and review consumers care practices and be responsible for maintaining and ensuring services meet Aged Care Accreditation Standards for residential care and support quality improvement. Responsible for the employment, disciplinary action, staff reviewing, termination and rostering. Through internal and external education programs, ensure that knowledge and skills remain current with all staff. To develop good public relations with the aim of improving the reputation of the facility within the community and maintain a high occupancy level. Manage the budgets and ACFI Funding.  Liaison with relatives, health care professionals and departmental personnel as required to achieve effective communication networks for the benefit of the residents, and to ensure the smooth running of the home. Managing consumers’ data and medical records. Interacting with doctors, patients and family members. Ensure that all complaints are promptly dealt with according to the protocol set out in the nursing home policy manual. The aim should be to achieve a conciliatory conclusion.
