I worked as Director for Dell Technologies’ Office of CTO to lead the China R&D team. 1. I was fully responsible for the strategy definition and implementation, team building, internal and external collaborations, and research projects management of China R&D team in OCTO. Our team is a research and advance development branch of Dell technologies’ OCTO outside of the United States, which is mainly conducting applied R&D of new technology, new concept product prototype development and incubation, and actively collaborating with top universities and standardization organizations in China. 2. The Key Technologies Area in China Research Office: 5G, Edge Computing, Intelligent Data Analytics and Management, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Security, Cloud Computing, Human-Machine Interaction and so on. 3. As the chief technology architect and project leader of the team, I actively led the team's full-cycle work of new technology and product prototype development.4. I have served as AI/ML Domain Leader for Dell Technologies China COE’s Technical Committee and Patent Review Committee Member for Pan-Dell Patent Review Committee.5. I frequently present and promote emerging technologies at various Dell Technologies forums and customer events, IT industry forums and expos and also academic conferences.

I was working as a Group Leader at United Technologies Research Center (China). 1. I led the Software and Intelligent Systems group with around 20 team members (60% with Ph.D. degrees). The major capabilities of the group are: video analytics, pattern recognition, user experiences/human-machine interaction, data analytics and mining, machine learning, embedded systems, high performing computing and software engineering. 2. My daily work as the Group Leader included: staffing/resource/funding allocation and management, hiring (hired about 25 full-time employees and 30 interns since 2012), project management, innovation research proposal development, research and innovation roadmap/capability development, people performance management, people training/coaching/development, technical research work, customer engagement, external interaction and collaboration and so on. 3. I had served as the UTRC (China) office local ACE leader from 2011 to 2013. I am very familiar with the UTC ACE (Achieving Competitive Excellence) and completed the UTC ACE associate program. 4. I had served as the IT leader for the UTRC (China) office from 2007 to 2010.
