The proposed methodology may improve the immersive viewing experience and interaction accuracy between virtual reality system and individual user. With the binocular orientation based on the Cyclopean Eye, the accuracy of Eye tracking technology can be improved.

    Research related to 3D Stereoscopic Display, Image Quality, Optoelectronic Characteristics, Crosstalk, Motion Blur, Quality Evaluation, Quality Optimization and so on.The 3D (three-dimensional) stereoscopic display introduces a new dimension based on traditional 2D (two-dimensional) display, and the created 3D vision reproduces the real world more accurately. Recently, the 3D stereoscopic display technology becomes the major topic of electronic display domain, and it is predicted that the 3D stereoscopic display replace 2D display or two types technologies develop side by side will be the development direction of electronic display in the future. In the mean time, aspiration and enthusiasm from the audience put forward more and more requirements on the development of 3D stereoscopic display, and the 3D image quality becomes more and more important. The approaches of how to eliminate the crosstalk and motion blur, and how to enhance the 3D image quality and viewing comfort become the common concern of researchers. Based on the study of 3D display optoelectronic characteristics and characteristics of human vision system, the mechanisms of how system influence on 3D image quality were revealed. Two most important factors influence on 3D image quality, 3D crosstalk and 3D motion blur were deeply investigated. Based on these investigations, the relative evaluation and optimization methods were proposed, which provided theoretical guidance for the improvement of 3D image quality and optimization of 3D display systems.

    The project “Cinematic viewing experience characterization”, aims at finding the best way to simulate the Ambilight, and systematically exploring how Ambilight profiles influence the “cinematic viewing experience”, while watching TV. During the one year, I focused on the Modeling of real AmbiLight using Avisynth, C++, Matlab and so on. This flexible Ambilight model was verified and used in the viewing experiment, some basic results were found.
