• Designed and fabricated microscale thin-film biosensors and microfluidic bioreactors by multilayer photolithography, dry etch, lift-off, magnetron sputtering, XRD, AFM and PECVD• Developed an integrated microfluidic biosensing platform that contains microfabricated GMR sensors and antibody-conjugated magnetic particles to detect bacteria• Studied the dynamics of bacterial biofilm and genetic toggle switch on microfluidic bioreactors• Instructed two students on fabrication of two organs-on-a-chip devices to mimic human intestine and pulmonary arteriole• Supervised a student using 3D printing to create a point-of-care pathogen detection device• Trained 4 PhD students on photomask CAD design and cleanroom microfabrication
