About Zhihan Chen
Hi, I'm Zhihan! I'm a 4th year college student studying Computer Science at Swarthmore College. I started out in college as an Political Science and Economics double major. By the end of my first year in college, I had taken my first college-level computer science class and was fascinated by the subject. I switched to a Political Science and Computer Science double major. Now that I am older and nearing the end of my time in college, I realize that it is impossible (or at least very difficult) to do absolutely everything. I decided to spend more of my limited time in a liberal arts institution focusing on Computer Science and exploring other fields such as music, studying foreign languages, literature etc. in addition to political science. I want to learn more about the world and develop my passions rather than chasing the coveted double major status. No worries though, I am still able to read a fair amount of literature on politics, history, and news in my free time!In terms of my computer science experience, I have previous experience developing websites and web apps. I have taken all of the usual required CS classes such as Discrete Math, Data Structures, Algorithms etc. The most interesting class I have taken so far is Compilers, where I wrote my own compiler using OCaml and C++. I am currently doing a semester abroad in Budapest, Hungary and studying at the Aquincum Institute of Technology. Two of my most interesting classes right now are Mobile Software Development and Applied Cryptography.In my free time, I love reading, playing music, training judo, hiking, and spending time with family and friends :)
