We build software that serves thousands of churches in their day-to-day operations so they can spend less time dealing with process and more time caring for people.

Founded and built The City (www.onthecity.org), a social network for churches. Built part of every aspect of a Facebook-like social network with hundreds of thousands of active users.The City was acquired by Zondervan/HarperCollins/NewsCorp in 2008 and I remained through 2011 leading product development and as a VP within Zondervan. I spent about 80% of my time actively writing code.The City has continued to grow and remains number one in this social networking niche.

Leading a small team of engineers, we launched the patented rules-based pricing engine, ushering in a new era of competitive pricing for Amazon. It enabled full control of hundreds of millions of products through retail-team specific pricing strategies using primary and derivative parameters (such as continuous optimization based on measured elasticities or competitive matching with various levers). It was and continues to be a dramatic win for customers and shareholders and is now a central function within Retail with the support of a team many orders of magnitude larger than it began.

Joined Amazon on the Infrastructure side of the organization.As a Sr. Website Engineer, I enjoyed working with the team responsible for troubleshooting issues with the main retail site.I was the sole creator of the Anomalous Sales Identification Engine (saving an average of $1M/month) which has been patented. I was awarded the 'Just Do It' award and the 'Inventor' award for my effort. This was the predecessor to the Rules Based Pricing Engine and helped prove the value of automated pricing.
