Dr Munim is Associate Professor of Maritime Logistics at the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN). He is an elected member of the council of the International Association of Maritime Economists (IAME) and a Senior Editor of the International Journal of Emerging Markets and an Assocaite Editor in the Journal of Alternative Finance. He founded the educational platform Research HUB. His main research interests include maritime logistics, supply chain management, forecasting and research methods. He received the Palgrave Macmillan Best Paper Award at the IAME 2016 Conference in Hamburg, the KLU Young Researcher Best Paper Award at the IAME 2018 Conference in Mombasa, and Maritime Policy & Management Best Paper Award 2020. He served as an external consultant to the Transport Canada. Dr Munim teaches several courses in Bachelor, Master and PhD level, broadly categorized as 'Supply Chain Management', ‘Maritime Economics’ and ‘Research Methods’. He also teach block-courses on 'Bibliometric Analysis' and 'Structural Equation Modelling in R' on PhD level. He published several scientific articles in leading maritime and management journals such as Journal of Business Research, Maritime Policy and Management, Journal of Cleaner Production, Maritime Economics & Logistics, Resources Conservation & Recycling, Asia Pacific Journal of Management and others. Dr Munim pursued PhD in International Management at the University of Agder, Norway (concentration in Maritime Economics and Logistics), and MSc in Supply Chain Management at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, Austria (specializations in Transport and Logistics, and Transport Geography Modeling). Apart from that, he holds a Bachelor in Business Administration degree (specialization in Finance) from the Eastern University, Bangladesh. Furthermore, he completed two modules of the Global Challenges in Transport programme at the University of Oxford. He has extensive training in 'Structural Equation Modelling' (SEM) from the University of Oslo and the University of Cambridge.
