Hi, I’m Zibiah Kitur. I am passionate about translational science that enhances human health and wellbeing. I seek out opportunities that combine basic research to clinical research and domains in between. I know health and wellbeing in our society is everyone’s pursuit, but I help through my expertise to impact life directly. As a translational science researcher with demonstrated history of working in a cancer and nanomedicine research center, my routine month would involve studying and analysing the biomakers of specific cancer, extraction of natural products, green synthesis of nanoparticles, planting and maintaining cell cultures and preclinical testing of natural products as well as the synthesized metal nanoparticles on cancer cell lines. Through my experience, I have managed to contribute to ongoing research in cancer therapy and nanotherapy. After my first degree in Food Science & Technology, I took preference to MSc. Biotechnology, especially in the area of Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Immunology, Applied Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Biology. This led to my acquisition of knowledge and further training in Trends in Molecular Medicine, Next generation sequencing (NGS) technologies: principle & application, Hospital Infection Prevention & Control and Cancer Awareness & Therapy. My interest in health related research has been made possible by adaptability and being able to operate at intersections. When I am not busy reading scientific journals, writing or carrying out lab experiments, you would find me promoting STEM, volunteering for educational self-help cause (passionate about sharing the knowledge I have gained with those who come after me), or just singing and playing violin.
