To address the need for efficient data export from our ERP system, we initially relied on exporting each ERP "view" to Excel using JetReports. While this approach provided some level of data access, it required repetitive exporting to obtain up-to-date information.In order to streamline this process and consolidate the data in a central location, I embarked on developing a custom application. This application establishes a connection with a single database and aggregates all the necessary data. To ensure data freshness, the (C#) windows application automatically refreshes 11 Excel files from the system on an hourly basis and transfers the data to a new database.Subsequently, I created a secure login webpage that grants users access to this consolidated data at any time. The webpage offers a range of pre-programmed reports, enabling users to easily retrieve specific information such as sales, orders, customers, and dates. These reports encompass a wide array of views, providing comprehensive insights. Additionally, I implemented additional tools within the application to enhance efficiency for the sales department, helping to optimize their working time.By developing this solution, I have achieved a streamlined and secure data access platform that empowers users with instant access to up-to-date information, extensive reporting capabilities, and time-saving tools.
