I am a 2020 undergraduate student from the University of California, San Diego with a concentration in International Business. I focused my academic coursework on economic and political relations in international markets which arouses my attention to the business opportunities between China and the US later. In addition, most of the courses from the business side involved projects and presentations which I have learned team collaboration, conflict management, and story-telling skills.While I understand that my major study largely focused on soft skills and writing skills, I actively learned (and I am still learning) business analysis tools from UC SAN DIEGO Extension and MOOC including Coursera, Udacity, Codecademy, Hackerrank, and Tableau Elearning. During the learning process, I had a growing interest in business analysis and market research--eventually, I completed several projects using Python, Advanced Excel, Tableau, and SQL. More importantly, the previous experience brought me 2 valuable assets, learned from my teammates and supervisor 1. It strengthened the critical thinking skills that allow me to think of a problem from a big picture perspective. The data itself is not useful unless it is equipped and analyzed in context.2. It taught me how to convince others when different opinions appear in a group. With all the respect to others, I found out that the way to convince others was to provide solid evidence, facts, and positive outcome, instead of getting into a debate.As I grow, I realize these two valuable assets become invaluable.I have lost many things in 2020: graduation ceremony, Kobe, flight ticket to China, job opportunities, and the chance of spending time with family. I once felt like I was trapped in the apartment but I overcame it. It stopped me from being financially independent, temporarily, but it also taught me to be mentally independent as I learned to grow from adversity.I am seeking challenging opportunities related to business analysis and market research in both China and the US, and would love to connect with you!
