A native of New York, Chuck began working in Art Administration in 2002 for New Mexico Arts as an AIPP Program Coordinator after moving to Santa Fe from Memphis, Tennessee. He was the Deputy Director of the State agency when he left in 2016 to pursue opportunities in the Pacific Northwest. Temporary, cutting edge cultural experiences are Chuck’s passion. He has worked with Ai Weiwei to install a temporary project in a remote canyon in Navajo Nation, brought German sound artist and musician Robert Henke to Chaco Canyon National Historic Park for a midnight outdoor concert, overseen the temporary installation of a 360 degree immersive full video dome in Miami’s Bayfront Park during Art Basil week and organized a 5 course fine dining experience created by contemporary Navajo Chefs to accompany a lecture by Lucy Lippard presented among the historic ruins of Chaco Canyon. A recipient of a Pollock-Krasner Grant, his background includes an M.F.A. from Southern Illinois University and Bachelors degrees in anthropology, art history, and fine art from the State University of New York at Potsdam. Chuck still spends many hours in his studio as a working artist.
