Line Therapist - Part-Time
CurrentABA therapy is offered at clinics, schools and in homes and is provided under the direction of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA). Therapists work closely with families and education professionals and apply the principles of ABA to teach language, social, self-help, academic, daily living and life skills. Each child is unique and early intervention helps ensure each child has the opportunity to be mainstreamed into a traditional learning environment and become more independent. Therefore, my role as a line therapist is to work one-on-one with the two children I have been assigned to. Both are nonverbal so we use and teach sign language to communicate during the ABA therapy, I work with the 4 year old two days a week @ 3 hours each day. I normally work with the 8 year old 3 days a week @ 3 hours each day. Each child has a therapy room in their home....designated just for ABA therapy! I report to a Lead Therapist over this area who reviews the progress of each child and assesses any changes I need to make to their therapy and/or routine. When I leave the home of each of my little clients my heart is filled with joyful emotions! To be a small part of these children's lives swells my heart. These are awesome kids!Once in awhile they choose to bestow a kiss or hug or they reach for your hand to lead you outside to play, or they giggle when I am being funny and suddenly you notice the sun is shinning brighter. All these days spent with them are good ones!
