Appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the State Senate for four-year terms, the eleven members of the Commission set regulations and policies for Colorado’s parks and wildlife programs. Connect with stakeholders and fellow commissioners to advocate for the concerns of conservation groups pertaining to setting policy that balances the health of the resource with the needs of the users. Set direction, ensure funding, and protect areas with high quality natural features of statewide significance.

Provide leadership in identification and attainment of key milestones in project finance. Work closely with legal and accounting departments to manage partners and packaged documentation to financing entities. Initiated communications and diligence process for financial partners. Refined communication system to share information between departments.

Ushered land contracts and entitlements for solar projects. Coordinated with officials and citizens to identify lands best suited for solar development and discover the jurisdictional requirements and negotiate permit approvals. • Partnered with local leaders to identify sites and successfully process land, environmental and building permits. • Presented to commissions and councils, oversaw tasks to gain project approvals, and communicated with leadership, sales, and product management to ensure sales reservations to residents and businesses.

Increased overall revenue from $300,000 to $1.5 million. • Strategically managed for a more efficient, quality-focused installation of residential and commercial projects.• Spearheaded a cooperative campaign, instrumental in adoption, sale, and completion of two solar gardens.

Rincon Institute works to protect and maintain the conservation areas surrounding Saguaro National Park East. As Executive Director, I enhanced funding through grants and donors, provided oversight and strategic planning. Expanded Saguaro National Park by successfully leading a campaign with community members, landowners, and local congressional leaders to protect the park edges from development pressures. Achieved protection of a 100,000-acre corridor of working ranches and healthy ecosystems.

Leveraged teams to double staff, number of acres protected, and operating budget, significantly improving the pace of land conservation in the region.
