Multi-institutional collaboration on" Tuning the hot electron-phonon dynamics of graphene through patterning of the substrate."Research areas of focus: Graphene/ Diamond interface, Graphene/ hBN interface, direct laser patterning of graphene, neural stimulation through graphene.Experiments focus on: " Understanding the effect of substrate on the relaxation of hot electrons and phonons in graphene, using ultrafast pump probe spectroscopy." Due to the carrier- surface phonon coupling, the electrons in graphene relax much faster on diamond substrates compared to other conventional surfaces. Created a novel morphological form of graphene called Curled Graphene Ribbons (CGR).Through simultaneous photocurrent and gate sweeping measurements we demonstrated extraordinary photocurrent emission from these novel structures.
