As a Microsoft Datacenter Technician (DCT), I provided impact on my local team as well as nationwide and worldwide teams. Locally, I was responsible for and created the plan and reports for the asset inventory and integrity of its data across my site - and the training for folks tasked with managing it. I also worked on the deployment team to create a solid network and server infrastructure through configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance. This maintenance included break-fix resolutions for our customers, under strict SLA adherence. Additionally, I worked on morale, safety, and compliance committees to assist with improving their processes as an SME in each, and often as the go-to person on the team for vendors to speak to with any process concerns.Nationwide and globally, I co-led virtual teams that focused on improving HR-related issues such as pay and benefits for the 2019 fiscal year. Additionally, I was the host of monthly calls (and often hosted additional events) for a women's group who were aimed to promote career progression and general well-being for the women and allies working within Microsoft data centers.

This was a Microsoft Career Experience where I spent some time working on the construction side of Microsoft data center builds - managing some of their telecom infrastructure projects. While in this temporary role, I built and published a RACI for a specific data center build-type, utilizing SMEs and stakeholder feedback. I also managed all projects involving the turn over of local network uplinks for each colocation of the two construction data centers I worked within.

While in this role, I was solely responsible for the site's assets - totaling to almost 200k high-value devices, and millions of dollars worth of equipment. I performed audits, and compiled reports that were shared with my manager, as well as the Microsoft local leadership. Additionally, I worked with other vendors in the Data Center to ensure policies/procedures were followed, and we were all set up for audit-ready success. Working with the Microsoft team, I developed audit schedules, as well as deadlines, based on their expectations for compliance at our site.

Stand-in supervisor for the Atos teams on site as needed. Here, I supervised mainly the Break-Fix and Deployment teams who serviced the Microsoft Data Center. I ensured these two site services teams, as well as the asset management team, were properly trained. If there were any knowledge gaps, I would work with the technicians and team leads to ensure understanding. I took an active role as liaison in site meetings, and also worked with the other on-site vendors to provide overall satisfaction for our customer, Microsoft.

Organized priority of workload through our ticketing system. Delegated responsibilities to site services team, based on that priority. Reviewed performance with my technicians on a 1:1 basis, and assisted with training in any areas they needed help on. Provided in-the-field feedback on written processes that were out-dated. Served as point of contact for outside vendors who needed to come on site to service equipment. Coordinated with systems and network administrators to determine what maintenance needed done, and provided/delegated that support. Managed local tape library storage and compliance.

Provided support for HP and Dell servers; Cisco, F5, Juniper, and Citrix switches; as well as others. Mapped, measured, ran, dressed, troubleshot, and quality-checked network cabling and infrastructure. Performed miscellaneous warehouse tasks.

Daily inventory management and logistics functions within the Microsoft Data Center. Handled physical and administrative tasks involved in shipping, receiving, storing, and distributing of materials, parts, supplies, and equipment. Compared validity of purchase orders and invoices against the physical shipment. Sorted and properly disposed of all packing materials. Maintained (and corrected as necessary) the online, shared record of all received, as well as shipped, goods. Led, and participated in, weekly quality checks for all inventory - maintaining integrity with Microsoft's spare parts.
