In this role, I had the privilege of working in partnership with our top-notch recruiting, benefits, and administration teams. The team was responsible for all aspects of the full-cycle recruiting process, including: sourcing, recruiting, career fairs and managing relationships with universities, hiring, benefits, and candidate-facing marketing and web materials. Our recruiting team sourced and hired thousands of new employees each year, and our benefits team supported the growing company of 6000+ people. In this role, I managed large hospital and clinic-based software implementations. This involved partnering with executives at these organizations to transform the way they provided patient care, while leading internal teams toward successful outcomes. Together, our groups focused not just on implementing the new medical record software, but also on change management, adoption, communication, patient-centered decision making, and excellence in all areas of the implementation.For many organizations, implementing an electronic medical record was one of the biggest changes they had ever taken on. It was in this role that I became incredibly passionate about the leadership element of change - what works, what doesn't, and how to navigate change in a way that is both outcomes-focused *and* people-focused. This is a key piece of the work I do today.

In this role, I had the opportunity to work with talented individuals and management teams to figure out how to combine strengths, skills, knowledge, talents, and passion to make the biggest impact for Epic, for our customers, and for the industry at large.I also had an opportunity to manage, mentor and teach other leaders across the company, through team lead curriculum design and instruction, 1:1 management and mentorship, and team-wide leadership coaching.My approach focused heavily on transparency, fierce conversations, getting to know people as whole human beings, and partnering with team members and other managers to find the "sweet spot" of passions, talents, and areas of potential impact.In addition to working directly with team members, I was incredibly passionate about sharing tools and approaches for new leaders to be as successful as possible in their new roles. I designed a portion of our company-wide team lead curriculum, and taught interactive team lead classes on a variety of leadership-related topics.This role was the official beginning of the journey toward where I am today. It was where I became incredibly passionate about creating aliveness in the workplace, about human potential, and about the essential practice of continuously combining and applying strengths, passions, and values in service of something greater.
