Some of her most esteemed work is traveling to Tanzania to engage in research regarding dryland ecosystem and sustainability practices in indigenous communities. She also lived in Ethiopia for 10 months during 2020 and has visited over 7 other countries! Zion is certified in ecotherapy and She is an adventure wilderness retreat leader, as well as ecotherapy retreat leader. These opportunities have afforded Zion the ability to travel all over the Earth and spend time getting to know ecosystems (including the people that live there). She considers herself to be a full time, slow term, eco-minded traveler and finds ways to partner with and support ecotourism initiatives happening in the places she lives in and abroad. For Zion, connecting to a place in empathetic ways is a powerful way to evoke feelings of responsibility, stewardship, and mindful connection to the land and culture. The intricacies that happen in nature often correspond, if not influence our own psyche.
