My job include three main areas of responsibility -1) Online monitoring – monitoring and examining important business KPI's – making sure we detect changes while they happen. This is done by examine the short-term business happening using reports and smart tools for anomaly detection.2) Analysis and reporting –Planning, building and reporting of new products/features. Planning and examine improvements in existing products (using AB tests). Working closely with all other departments of the company – Product, R&D, CS, Marketing and providing them with key insights for their everyday work. Also, working directly with the senior management and providing them with overview reports and analyses.3) Complex models, algorithms and In-depth researches – predictive CLV, abandonment model (Churn), fraud model, behavioral models, economical models, personalized recommendation algorithms, profit maximization algorithms, market analysis, industry analysis and competitive analysis. All of the above was achieved while completely renovating the BI team and working tools - 1) Recruiting data scientists (statisticians and economists), tutoring and teaching them, building each one of them as an independent source of knowledge in his area of responsibility. 2) Migrating our analytical DB to RedShift, planning the DB architectural structure and using Tableau as our primary visualization tool.3) Implementing R for complex researches and analyses. My first and most important achievement in this job is changing the company's approach toward business changes - making decisions based on facts and numbers. Nowadays, the BI team is standing in the front of every business decision making and is a key factor in the company strategic planning.
