Objectives: Automation and Simplification. As part of a small, dedicated team I am working to simplify the delivery of information technology services to Aon and its clients. We are driving the change towards agile practices; cooperation over traditional IT 'silos'; cross functional teams; and the adoption of DevOps practices. Our objective is to use infrastructure as code - source control is the source of truth! Using tools such as Puppet, Vagrant, Packer, GIT and VMware to automate the provisioning, testing and deployment of infrastructure and applications - and with close collaboration with Architects, System Administrators and Developers - we are working to redefine process and workflows to achieve automated, consistent and reliable environments. We are working towards a “deploy on demand” release cycle.
