• Internship under the supervision of Dr. Junfeng Liu, Research Professor at the College of Urban & Environmental Science at Peking University
• Constructed a quantitative analysis on the effect of black carbon concentration on world-wide human health
• Extracted information from the datasets of World Health Organization (WHO), and global black carbon concentration data from Peking University database
• Developed a Matlab algorithm calculating the black-carbon induced death rate using formulas recorded in scientific literatures
• Visualized results by mapping the data into a world map and used color indicators to present different levels of death rate
