Emilita Zizi Fernandes (1981) started her career at the ING Bank as a trainee in 2004. After finishing her Bsc in Economics at the University of Applied Sciences (Hogeschool) in Rotterdam, she left ING in 2006 to work as a Project manager at the South African Netherlands Chamber of Commerce in The Hague. In that same year she also continued studying. In 2012 she finalized her MSc in Business Administration at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam. She returned to ING in 2009 until 2015, she worked as a banker at ING Bank district of Rotterdam (Business Banking and Private Banking division). Currently she is managing her own start up, Mama Taxi Mobility.Other external functions include a membership at the Youth Council Board of the non-profit organisation dance4life. Within corporates in Rotterdam she also represents dance4life as project manager to meet the ever changing need of children and individuals impacted by Hiv/Aids in South Africa. This inspired Zizi to write her thesis about “Breaking the taboo on ‘Hiv in the workplace’- programmes within Dutch companies in South Africa”.
