I have several open-source modules available on CPAN that I develop and maintain.CPAN is a repository of free and open-source software libraries and applications for the Perl programming language. My contributions include:- Devel::IPerl : a Perl kernel for the Jupyter notebook system used frequently by scientists.- Statistics::NiceR : a wrapper around the R statistical programming system.- Net::Gmail::IMAP::Label : a proxy for Gmail that inserts Gmail's labels into the network IMAP stream. Packaged for Debian as `libnet-gmail-imap-label-perl`.PAUSE ID: ZMUGHAL.

- Design, integrate, and deploy a laboratory information system (LIS).- Design and implement middleware for Beckman Coulter laboratory devices (clinical chemistry analyzer, immunoassay system, hematology analyzer).

Worked on a thesis on image segmentation and machine learning with neuron data in the Computational Biomedicine Lab.Used 3D volume data of neurons obtained from microscopes in order to extract their morphology and released an open science project based on this work.

- Worked on image analysis of filament structures.I used rotational filters to extract the morphology of 2D blood vessel images based on training data extracted using a custom GUI.- Developed an algorithm for dendritic spine classification as part of my senior honor's thesis.Created a dataset of individual dendritic spines from 3D volume data using a custom GUI and extracted characteristics that could be used to differentiate between different dendritic spine shapes (thin, mushroom, stubby).

Wrote a report on getting videoconferencing (H.323) working on multiple platforms.
